Shoes
All athletes must wear running shoes (flats) to practice (for protection). Tennis shoes, street shoes, slippers, flip-flops or other shoes will not be allowed. In addition, athletes in running and jumping events must have approved spiked track shoes. These shoes may be purchased at any qualified retail store, but we have discount cards and coupons available at various athletic establishments that will save a lot of money. When purchasing these shoes, try on a good number of them and purchase the ones that are the most comfortable. Make sure you allow for ample toe room. Each athlete who will be using spiked track shoes must have 2 different sets of replacement spikes: 3/16” spikes are mandatory for all-weather tracks; 3/8” spikes are for dirt tracks. The shoes come with a spike wrench for changing spikes. Bring spikes to all practices.
